Now deep into their Australian expansion, driven by numerous sole sourced contracts, as their Principal Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be a central figure working driving their success and Australian cyber capability. This role offers the unique opportunity to work closely with the client’s established U.S. cyber team while shaping the future leadership of the Australian function.
About the Role
As Principal Cybersecurity Engineer, you will lead the design, implementation, and oversight of cybersecurity architecture for defence-grade systems across networks, platforms, and classified environments. You will be instrumental in securing and maintaining Authority to Operate (ATO) and ensuring compliance with Australian ISM, ASD Essential Eight, and global standards.
This role is not only about technical delivery but also about building a legacy. You will be a key leader of the Australian cyber team, influencing architecture, security strategy, and future direction.
About You

10+ years of cybersecurity experience, ideally within defence, government, or critical infrastructure.

Experience with working on acquiring and maintaining Authority to Operate.

Strong expertise in Linux systems, network security, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Hands-on knowledge of security automation and monitoring tools (e.g., Ansible, Splunk, SO2, ACAS, Anchore, SonarQube).

Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, mentor others, and influence architecture decisions.

Must be an Australian citizen with current NV2 clearance.
