Linux and Solaris Administrator

Join Vertical Scope Group’s (VSG) Professional Services Division as we are seeking a driven, highly skilled and competent Security cleared, System Administrator to join our award-winning team in supporting our Defence and National Intelligence Community customers.

 

About You:

• Must have a security clearance
• Can be based in Sydney, NSW.
• Interested in a minimum long term contract with possible extension.

 

About the role:

• Administer and maintain Oracle Linux and Oracle Solaris environments on SPARC M12 and S7 -series and x86 hardware.
• Monitor system performance and proactively detect and troubleshoot errors.
• Apply configuration updates and security hardening measures.
• Optimize systems to extend usability and minimize downtime.
• Conduct testing and provide end-user support for legacy systems.
• Provide 24/7 monitoring and support for SPARC and X86 platforms.
• Monitor master console, identify OS error messages and action as necessary
• Assist third-party engineers (e.g., IBM) with onsite support and change implementation.
