Vertical Scope Group (VSG) are seeking experienced (8+ years) Infrastructure Specialists – Storage and Backup (NetApp & SnapCentre) to join our client and work as part of a team delivering multi-cloud and infrastructure projects for a federal Government department.
You'll get to work within a collaborative and productive environment. You’ll be supported in your exploration of new ideas and novel ways to deliver the broad scope of work.
You will be a great fit for this role if you have:
Minimum of 8 years’ experience on handling Storage and Backup technologies
Experience in troubleshooting Servers, complex computing platforms, storage systems including SAN and NAS arrays, and cutting-edge technologies involving virtualization, distribution, and high availability
Knowledge of existing industry standards, technologies, and operational norms
Experience with virtualization and IBM technologies
Background in Linux, Cisco and EMC is a plus
Experience with EMC storage arrays, Cisco Fabric Manager, IBM Storage Arrays is preferred
Experience on Backup technologies like Netbackup, EMC networker and Spectrum protect is preferred
Experience on Data Domain and VTL is preferred.
Experience in managing storage systems from vendors such as EMC, NetApp, HP, IBM, Hitachi
Experience on IBM SAN storage (SVC, DS8k, Flash System 840)
Experience on SAN Fabric like Cisco MDS9000
Experience on IBM ProtecTIER
At least have a Bachelor's/College Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or equivalent.
Key responsibilities/tasks:
Install and Configure EMC/IBM Storage System
Install, Configure and Manage Storage Devices using different platform
EMC VMAX
IBM DS8k and A9k
Brocade SAN Switches
Perform SAN switch zoning and storage allocation
Install and configure storage arrays and allocate SAN and NAS storage to different OS platforms and/or administer storage pools, file system, snapshots and clones.
Perform enrolment of system to backup infrastructure, knowledge on EMC Networker and Spectrum Protect
Provide input to operation and architecture teams ideas and best practices
Analyze storage provisioning trending and capacity management
Interface with the operations team and the server administrator for storage requirements
Contribute to architecture standards of the storage and backup landscape
Security clearance: NV1 (minimum)
Estimated start date: ASAP
Location of work: Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
Length of contract: 10 months
Contract extensions: The organisation may extend
Rate: Up to $140p/h (commensurate on experience)
